Cost & Fee
The Cost and Fee billing model is a method used for construction projects, where costs for materials and labor, as well as fees and charges for planning and project management, are recorded and allocated.
Essentially, the costs are divided into three areas:
- Costs for Direct Services: This includes labor and materials directly needed for the construction project.
- Costs for Indirect Services This covers all costs for planning, project management, approval procedures, inspections, and testing.
- Percentage Markup for the General Contractor
Billing under the Cost and Fee model typically occurs based on unit prices for specific services. This means that a fixed price is agreed upon for each service provided. Costs for materials and direct services can be relatively clearly recorded in this way. The client then pays for these services with a percentage markup to the general contractor.
